Buy Watch Dogs!

Like Uncharted and The Last of Us, Watch Dogs is a game that looks great, a great open world adventure about a hacker vigilante name Aiden Pearce. His hacking skills allow the player to hack the city's central operating system and  allow players to hack banks and steal money , control traffic lights and many more. The storyline is built around the concept of information warfare, and a world with an increased use of technology. In this version of Chicago, Pearce performs acts of vigilantism to right the wrongs of a horrible society, such as assassinate media mogul Joseph DeMarco, who had been wrongly acquitted on charges of murder. So if you like games like The Last of Us for its great storyline or GTA for its open world, buy this game! The game is set to release on November 19 for seventh generation consoles and November 15 for PS4 and Novemebr 22 for Xbox One.

The Best Seller

A group of enthusiasts await store opening to purchase GTA V
It only took $256 million to develop and market, but in its first week it raked in mores than $1 billion. Selling 15 million units worldwide Grand Theft Auto V, made $1 billion in sales in 3 days and set to surpass the global music industry in its first month, which only rakes $1.4 billion in record and music sales each month. The game has reached a billion dollars faster than any other game in history, the previous title holder Call of Duty: Black Ops took 15 days to reach a billion, as oppose to GTA's 3 days. It seems to me developer Rockstar and publisher Take Two are really delighted about the success of their game and looks forward to the profits, they struck gold!

GOOAALLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

FIFA 14 was released last week is the buzz in the EA realm along with Madden NFL 25, and although this FIFA is pretty much the same as its predecessors, there has been some changes. Now gamers can control the ball independently of the player, so no more having the ball sticking to a players feet until you pass or shoot the ball, however with these new features realistic limitations have been added as the players shift their weight and the ball can lose control and wander far from the player. Dribbling has been made easier as the game no longer require gamers to hold on to a modifier button while attempting to dribble. The artificial intelligence has been enhanced, so the defenders will give you more trouble than ever before. Needless to say you'll have to work harder to get a goal. The game also allow players to create teams and have the options of buying current players and about 40 legendary players like PelĂ©. So if you love soccer, or football, and you are looking to buy a version of FIFA, where dribbling and handling skills makes a difference, as it does in real life, and looking for a challenge to win, then go and purchase a copy of FIFA 14 at your local retailer.

25 Year Legacy

Cover of Madden NFL 25
Instead of numbering this year's Madden, Madden NFL 14, the game was named Madden NFL 25 to celebrate the games 25 years of existence. Since the first release of John  Madden Football in 1989, the game has truly evolved, not only in visual sophistication, but in gameplay and the overall concept. The first game of this series was only available on PC and basically allowed the gamer to move horizontally and vertically on the field to reach the endzone and called that football, today the game is a thousandfold more sophisticated and have numerous new features. Madden NFL 25 was released in late August. The franchise mode of this game has been revamped, so that gamers can own and manage their teams, gamers can also move their teams internationally or revive historic teams. The game has received a mixed reviews and is especially praised for its revamped franchise mode. If your a Madden fan, and even if your just a regular football fan, I'd say that Madden NFL 25 is a great investment. I wonder though, what will they call the 2025 release of Madden?

Mr. President, the aliens are coming!!

On August 20, Volition released Saints Rows IV, what I would consider a crazy game. In the game a member of the Saints Row gang becomes the President and has to wage war against an alien invasion. In the game the cabinet of the president can be seen smoking weed, getting stripteases and drink tons of booze. Not to mention how the president personally fights and defeats the alien invasion, the president has the power of telekinesis, creation of a fire shield, freezing enemies or objects as well as creating shock-waves when stomping on the ground. If crazy, unrealistic games are your cup of tea, I suggest picking up a copy of Saints Row IV at your local retailer.

Naughty Dog's Masterpiece

On June 14 Naughty Dog released The Last of Us a critically acclaimed game, that touches the heart. The game is set in a post apocalyptic world following a global epidemic, and follows the story of a smuggler Joel, and a girl who he is supposed to deliver to a group of survivalists, who believe she holds the key to the cure for the disease. Besides the great story plot, filled with suspension and twists, the game is highly playable, and is extremely gory. The game's narration was praised for its characterization and depiction of the human condition, dealing with the themes of sacrifice, loyalty, fate and hope. Naughty Dog is known for its excellent games, such as the Uncharted Series, which has won numerous awards, this game, however, takes the company to new heights as this movie like plot and realistic gameplay has set this game and its creators apart. This game has won the GameInformer Gold Award, has been awarded as the game of the month for the month of August and has received high ratings through the board. As a gamer and recently learning about this game, I look forward to purchasing it for myself to experience the thrills, as I did when I played the Uncharted Series.

Why This????

Side-angle view of the 2DS
On October 12, Nintendo is set to release yet another version of the DS, the Nintendo 2DS. Many including myself are entirely bored with Nintendo and its DS and its overall decision these past few years. The only pro for this system is that it will be the cheapest system on the market, as it will only sell for $170.00 on its release date, and my guess is that by the end of the year it will be selling for $100.00 less. This is another one Nintendo's many bad decisions, the system is everything a 3DS is except its not 3D,hence the 2D in 2DS, but who would really buy this? I fear very few people, the company claim that its aim is to sell this handheld console to a younger audience, preferably those under 7, as the 3DS was in the middle of a scandal regarding the health effects of its 3D gaming. But I think it would be wiser to buy a DSi or DS Lite or a regular DS if your only concern was 3D gaming, and plus these previous DS's are much cheaper than the already cheap 2DS. This is going to be a worse failure than the Wii U, which Nintendo intended to rival the XBox One and the PS3, the 2DS also looks like Wii U remote. In the gaming world, many are wondering if Nintendo becoming irrelevant, as a kid who grew up on Nintendo, I sure hope not, but if company continues to recycle old products and try to sell them as new ones, then I am afraid that is exactly were they are heading!

A Different Grand Theft Auto?

On September 17, Rockstar will release Grand Theft Auto 5, and the question on everybody's minds is: is this a different GTA, as in the past little has change in the franchise, with the exception of better graphics in the newer installment. Today we put this question to the test! From the countless videos and articles I have read about the game, I have come to one conclusion, one that many other fans agree with, that this is indeed a different Grand Theft Auto. The game is set in satirical Southern California styled city called Los Santos, the diversified environments of the city are fascinating, from the slums, to the back country, to suburbia, other GTA's have attempted this before but none seem to be comparable to Los Santos. In the previous installment the only differences in neighborhoods, was the type of cars you could steal and the wardrobes of the pedestrians, in this installment the very behavior of the pedestrians change, and different activities associated with each environment is totally different, from hunting in the back country, to buying drugs in the hood, or buying real estate in suburbia. One other big change of the franchise is the ability to player with the three protagonists: Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. Like the diversity of the city each character is completely different and each has a distinct personality. With three protagonists players can use different vantage points to complete missions, and are able to switch from one character to the next whether they are completing a mission and are in the same room or across town allowing for voyeurism and to see what each character usually does. The game also allows the gamer more independence as gamers are given the responsibility of setting their missions as they see fit. Amongst the changes are a wider array of games and sports to play, types of investment to invest, and cool things to buy. One of the most anticipated change is the Grand Theft Auto multiplayer, however very little information has been reported. However I encourage all GTA fans and those who are not but are looking for a great game to buy, to buy GTA 5 on September 17.

PlayStation 4 vs Xbox One

PS4 and Xbox One consoles, controllers, and and cameras
As the holiday season draws near the question of many of America's youth, is what to get for the holidays? For many youth, especially young males, there is a simple yet complicated answer, video games and consoles, as this has been an American tradition for the past few decades. Generations have come and gone, and this year we boldly look forward to the eight generation of games. Today games are more complex than ever with innovations like 3D gaming, motion sense, interactive multiplayer, etc. Amongst all these great occurences there is battle stirring in the gaming world for the hearts of young shoppers and their families. This holiday season Microsoft and Sony will be releasing their eight generations consoles the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. For the most part these two consoles are the same with some victories for Sony in a cheaper price difference, slightly better hardware, cheaper online network, and backward compatibility, the Xbox One also has some victories in its SmartGlass second screen option compared to the less high tech yet superb PS Vita second screen option for Sony. Despite all its similarities it seems to me, not only as a PlayStation fan, that the PS4 will win this battle this upcoming holiday season, as it is a hefty $100 less than its counterpart. However only time can tell so as one of America's game fanatics, I look forward to this holiday season.
